The New Avanti

GJ and Grandpa welcomed a new boat into the family this weekend and we went to check it out on Saturday. It's beautiful and we're so excited for them!

Snow Babies

We took advantage of the snow from this week's storm and Griffin really played in it for the first time (pretty hysterical to see him crawling through it!) Schuyler had a blast pulling him around in the baby sled. If I hadn't gotten so cold, a snowman would have been next...

Birthday Boy

It's been a busy month, with the highlight being Griffin's first birthday.

Just like Schuyler's first birthday, the cake featured 'puffs' prominently in the decoration, not only because Griff LOVES them, but they helped hide the hideous job I did with the icing! We had a fun family party at the house (chili for the adults, pizza for the kids). As Griffin hits this milestone, I can't help but delight in the amazing little boy he's becoming. Such a happy and affectionate little guy. I didn't get many pics during the party, but I did manage a few beforehand, and I think they really capture his spirit.

Christmas Kids

Is there any doubt about the affection between these two??!!

Christmas Play

This was our second year in the Saint Mary's Christmas Pageant. Schuyler was an angel - here she is waiting to go ' on stage '

Grifin, as one of the youngest members of Saint Mary's, was Baby Jesus, and as his caregivers, we were on the hook to play Mary and Joseph. Rich rocked his costume!!
Ah, the things we do for our children....

The whole pageant is on film, courtesy of Sam, and it is AWESOME. Griff was the happiest Jesus ever, clapping and laughing and smiling the whole time. Quite an experience...

Dress

Thank you to Kate for Schuyler's adorable handmade jumper!!!

Christmas Pics

Here are some funny pics from before the Webb Christmas party - kids in matching Christmas outfits (crazy, I know)...

I think Schuyler was being a reindeer in this picture?
Cutest kids ever.
So silly.
They just love each other...

Guess Who is Four!?!

Schuyler celebrated her fourth birthday last month; where in the word did the time go? We had a kid party at Gymport in Yarmouth - they did a great job and she LOVED it - and then a family party at our house on her actual birthday. Probably too much party, but she's worth it!!!

Mom, Griff, and Mary.
Schuyler's family party had a 'Friendly's' theme - including the 'Monster Mash'!
Family party - birthday cake with Chris.
Uncle Nick and Schuyler (what a family resemblance!)

Christmas Tree, 2008

We talked and talked about getting an artificial tree this year, but Rich's folks convinced us that we should give them 'the real deal'. So we headed to Mr. Knott's tree farm for the third year in a row. Schuyler and I headed there in advance to scope things out. We tagged it and came back later in the day, so Rich could cut it down.

Later on, Schuyler and Griffin both passed out in the car. A RARE event.

Barnstable Village Stroll

It was a windy, rainy, and warm Barnstable Village stroll last night but it didn't stop us from visiting the Comedy Club and seeing Santa. Schuyler also stepped it up and got her face painted, which she's never had done before. She asked for 'shooting stars'!

Griffin was too upset by Santa to pose for a picture!

Nativity sets

We gave Schuyler her own Playmobil Nativity set this year and she set it up next to mine. She LOVES it and I think it is going to kick off new interest in the Playmobil toys in general. Santa take note...

Polar Express

We've kicked the season into high gear despite not having a tree. Things started off with a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express, part of Sandwich Holly Days via the Chamber of Commerce. It was cute, and Schuyler had her first non-scary encounter with Santa since she was a baby. Griffin, however, met Santa for the first time and was NOT impressed.

Poor Griffin sobs on Santa's knee...

With the conductor. (Looks kind of scary!)

The kids pose with a headless elf.
On the train with Griff.
Rich and the kids. They had on matching jammies and Schuyler had fun being out and about in her nightgown and robe (just like in the Polar Express book)!

Three going on Thirteen

Schuyler is approaching her fourth birthday in two short weeks. She's such a 'big girl'. I just love this picture from the weekend.

She took her first big trip to the city on a bus tour to see The Grinch Who Stole Christmas: The Musical with my mom and Mary. She loved it, kept talking about how 'amazing' the Wang Center was, all the jewels on the walls and all the 'American Indians'?!

We'll be celebrating with her class at Gymport with a 'Diego' themed birthday party. Should be interesting...

She's also giving me parenting advice. The other night when Griffin was crying in the crib she called out to me and told me to 'rock him in the rocker' for awhile. Too funny.

Griffin will be the next one with a birthday, so crazy, it's been a fast year...

Visit with Anna

We had a great visit with Bryan, Sarah, and cousin Anna yesterday. She and Griffin have a great time together!!

The baldies playing on the Musical Playground...
Happy guy!
Schuyler shows offer her strength.
What a happy, sweet little girl!!

On the move!

Griffin is officially on the move, climbing stairs, crawling everywhere ('commando' style). He is such a daredevil and is going to give me a heart attack one of these days. Unlike Schuyler, who was (and is) a cautious child, Griffin is BUSY and WITHOUT WORRY. He is going to give me a heart attack!
The kids, footie pajamas and all, trying to pull open the baby gate...

Solo (standing up on the stairs!!!)
Chasing big sister...
Climbing together.
