Field Trip

It's hard to believe Schuyler's first full year of preschool has come to an end. There's a school-wide family picnic coming up next week to officially say goodbye, but there was also a beach day and a field trip earlier this month. I signed up to volunteer, and I'm so glad I did. We went to the Sandwich fish hatchery and then to Green Briar for a picnic and nature walk. The kids are so cute and it was nice to see Schuyler interact with her pals from school. Griffin came, too, and I realized he's getting much too big for the Bjorn - my back KILLED by the end of the day.

All in all, it was a fantastic school year. We love the Montessori format and Nancy is such a compassionate teacher and terrific role model. Schuyler will continue to attend summer session and will do three days a week in the fall instead of just two...

Recital

Schuyler had her very first recital on Friday! She was wonderful and does not seem to suffer from stagefright!!! She was a 'lollipop'. Too cute for her own good!!!

Pirate Girls

GJ and Schuyler are off to ride the pirate ship today. GJ and S decided that costumes were in order!! S wore her halloween costume and GJ pulled out a costume THAT SHE MADE HERSELF from her attic. Here they are:

Schuyler looks way too excited about her pirate sword!!!!

Schuyler appears to have scored GJ's sword as well. (Missing from the picture is GJ's pirate gun, which I believe is hidden in her sash.)
And the pirates tend to my garden before going off on their adventure...

Home Sick

Our plans for a beach day were dashed by Schuyler's sudden sickness; she woke up with a fever and hasn't been able to keep any food down today. Beyond that, she's pretty cheerful since I've lifted the tv moratorium and potty training boot camp for the day. We've watched A LOT of Diego...and there's been quite a bit of sleeping.

Griffin managed to have some happy times while Schuyler was napping. So strange to have her napping the day away, since she gave up napping quite a long time ago...

Boat Ride

We took our first boat ride of the season (Griffin's first boat ride EVER) on Michael and Tara's new boat. So nice to get out on the water.

Rich with the boat's namesake!

Dads and the daughters. You can see Eric on the bow, he was in town for a few days and joined us on the cruise.
Schuyler and Rich enjoying the view.

Heat Wave!

It is very hot for this time of the year. Quite an adjustment - I haven't even unpacked my summer clothes yet!! Schuyler, always the glamour girl, managed to keep it fashionable despite the heat. Here she is in the front yard while Rich dutifully mowed.

Dr. Schuyler

Griffin had his 4 month checkup last week. He's doing great, 15.3 pounds, a strong and steady little guy. Schuyler joined me for the appointment. She had lots to say to Dr. Zito. She made sure to let her know all about her 'toy stethoscope' and other 'doctor tools'. With doctors on the brain, Schuyler decided to give Griffin an examination of his very own over the weekend.

Gardening with GJ

GJ and Grandpa bought me a lovely boat planter for my birthday (to replace the old whiskey barrel that was falling apart thanks to a landscaping truck ramming it last summer). GJ and Schuyler picked out some flowers and even planted them for me. Here's their finished product.

Schuyler is also helping plant an herb garden on the deck, and we did the windowbox for the shed over the weekend. Things are shaping up around here; it's starting to feel like summer!
