Babies, babies everywhere

We had a baby filled weekend. First, got to visit with Griffin's cousin baby Anna, who is BEAUTIFUL. This was our first meeting with Anna -- earlier attempts were thwarted by colds and crazy schedules. We look forward to many good times with Anna, and to watching her grow up.

Sunday we had brunch with Carter, Paul, Michael, Tara, and all FIVE children.
Ben and Avery hanging out.
Schuyler and Baby Abbie modeling headbands.

Pile on Paul!

Cute Avery

Ben smiles. Such a charmer...

It was great to catch up with everyone. It may be the last time we can all get together as a group on the weekend for awhile, as The Smuggler is about to open for the season.

Visit with Abbie and Ben

Griffin got to meet Abbie and Ben for the first time last week, just back from their winter trip to Florida. Rich took a picture of the whole gang on the couch -- hard to believe we are two families of four now. A lot of kids!! How the times change. ..

Schuyler just might be into younger guys :) Such a cutie...

Potty Success

We are so proud of Schuyler - we're finally having some successes with the potty training. (It's been a slow road; I think it's all about control for her.) We've had to use some bribes, however, to make it happen :) We keep a toy on top of the medicine cabinet for her to gaze at while she's on the potty. It seems to be effective. She's also finally showing some interest in her potty chart and putting the pretty gold stars on it.

Here she is posing with Sunday night's prize. (She looks pretty psyched!) Although it was dark, she took Rich outside to use the chalk on the driveway. It was cute. There was a lot of excitement.

Can't wait to get rid of the diapers and pull ups forever!!!

Griffin Smiles

Griffin just started smiling - it's so nice to see! After weeks and weeks of little more than sleeping, crying, and diapers, getting a glimpse of a clearly happy and expressive baby is wonderful. He has the biggest smiles for his daddy and sister, but he shoots me a few, too, as he did this morning. I'm also so happy to see some cheeks developing, nothing like a chubby baby...

Fancy Schuyler

Schuyler's book of the moment is Fancy Nancy by Jane O'Connor. I think it has inspired her to "dress fancy" in her own life. She wore a tiara to school both days last week, and when I picked her up, she was wearing sunglasses outside (though no sun in sight). She REALLY wanted to wear one of her princess dresses but I talked her out of it. She's too funny...

Schuyler's love for her brother continues. They spend a lot of time sticking out their tongues at each other (with a tiara on, of course -- and a ballet costume, too).
