Lobster Dinner

Schuyler had her first lobster dinner last night (or 'crab' as she liked to call it). No tears over the lobster going into the lobster pot, so that was good! There was some confusion though about the lobster 'crackers'. First she seemed confused why they'd be called crackers if she couldn't eat them, then she thought they were very much like chopsticks (and where in the world did she learn about chopsticks!!?? Funny the things they pick up...)

Passing

We are saddened this week by the passing of Barbara "Honey" Elder -- maiden name Schuyler -- Dad's aunt and Schuyler's partial namesake. She was a true original; hard to imagine visits to Maryland without seeing her. I'm sorry Schuyler didn't get to know her more. I have such fond memories of dinner parties at John Street growing up. I will also always cherish the letters she wrote to me when I was studying in Paris about her time living there...

Mr. and Mrs. Scot McMahon

Big congrats to Scot and Wendy on tying the knot in Bermuda last week. We were so pleased to be part of their celebration. The immediate family joined them on a cruise from Philly to Bermuda, with a lovely beach ceremony on the 10th. Schuyler was co-flower girl and performed her duties well. She had a blast with cousin Sarah, as you can see from the pictures. (You can see all the pictures here....)

Baby Boy!

Schuyler is getting a sibling in January - we found out last week baby #2 is a boy!!! We are so excited. Here he is....

He looks just like Schuyler did in her first 'picture'. (Though I guess all ultrasound pics look alike...)

First day of preschool!

Schuyler is officially in preschool! I'm so proud of my grown up girl. She gave me a huge hug and kiss goodbye and had no issues at all being dropped off all by herself. She told me she wants to have milk and cookies when she gets home and talk about her day. And then walk Pepper...

Seriously, she looks SO HAPPY. It makes me so happy. She's growing up into such a terrific little girl...
