Sam's Prom

Hard to believe, but Sam's senior prom was last weekend. We went to CP& Pop pop's for pictures. Schuyler ran into her buddy Deirdre, who's aunt is friends with Sam from BHS. The girls looked beautiful! Graduation is next weekend.

Drive in and Commissioning

The weekend was a total wash-out, but we did manage to see Shrek the Third at the Wellfleet Drive in. We all piled in the Cabrio, Pepper included, did the fried food circuit at Arnold's in Eastham, and then took in the show. Schuyler enjoyed it, but had a limited attention span. She seemed more interested in reading the books we brought along with us, which I suppose we should be grateful for! She did stay up for the whole thing, but fell asleep in the car on the way home, sleeping on Sunday morning until 9:30!!! The latest sleep EVER. It was bizarre, but nice. Though it made us get a very late start on the day.

Pep and Schuyler in the car. Got to love the Euro styling in the backseat fabric of the cabrio!!

Sunday brought HYC Commissioning. Schuyler ended up joining us, wearing her new standby favorite outfit, her Vineyard Vines dress, acquired via a very good deal on Ebay. She was a very good girl, got to eat lots of grapes and a very chocolaty cookie, and Grandpa and GJ got to show off their special girl...we saw a beautiful rainbow after one of the torrential downpours and Schuyler splashed in the puddles with delight. She lost the tights and shoes quickly!

Now the weather has cleared, just in time for the workweek...

Mother's Day

We had quite a crowd: Courtney, Joanne, my Mom, Dennis, Nick, Sam, Matt, and Gee over for Mother's Day dinner. 11 people at the table, our biggest sit down dinner to date. It went really well. Though I got so busy I didn't get to take any pictures (except a 'before' shot of the table all set up with the lovely Harris china I was given by Phyllis a few years ago, and then an 'after' shot of Schuyler playing around while we removed the leaves of the table). We finally got to try out our fully extended dining room table with all the leaves in it. After years and years of tiny tables and mismatched chairs, we finally bought a "real" dining set. The table is so big when extended it practically fills up our entire house. Though somehow it didn't feel terribly crowded, which was a relief.

Schuyler's "tie"

It is fun to see how Schuyler's playtime has evolved. She's getting more imaginative all the time. The other day she was very excited to show me her "tie" -- really just her green ribbon belt tucked into her shirt. She saw Rich in a suit the other day, so I assume that's her "tie" association...it was very cute.

Spring Fever

Schuyler loves to talk about the forsythia; it is in bloom all around us on the Cape. Here she is in our yard this morning, taking it all in.

Schuyler then and now

Schuyler in September

Schuyler in April
What a difference eight months makes (all the hair!!) Though bigger now, she still likes to carry my purse to the car...
