Road Trip

We took our first major family roadtrip, traveling from the Cape to Baltimore. Schuyler was such a champ on the ride, so well behaved and cheerful -- though much to our surprise SHE DID NOT SLEEP on the way down. When we arrived at 2:30 am she was wired and ready to play. Getting her to sleep was a major challenge and I ended up with only a couple of hours sleep. Very reminiscent of the early days with S when sleep was highly infrequent. In any case, we all bounced back and had a lovely time with Dad and Alyce.

And this was the trip that Schuyler really got to know her Mayland cousin Jessie Pearl. They had such fun together...

The trip was full and we got to see many of our favorite people -- had lunch with Scot and Wendy and toured their beautiful townhouse in VA, celebrated the upcoming birth of baby Gode at Jenn's baby shower in Annapolis, and met Wesley's lovely new girlfriend Jill.

Gram's 103rd birthday

We celebrated Gram's 103rd birthday over the weekend! (Yes, you read that right, she's 103...)

Telephone time

Last week I saw Schuyler, for the first time, really hold the telephone to her ear and have a conversation. (She used to drop it if we didn't hold it up to her ear.) She's on with Gee in these pictures. It was very sweet.

Tiki Port...

Schuyler sings her favorite jingle from the radio (Tiki Port, Tiki Port...the taste of the far east Tiki Port) and follows it up with an old favorite. Sorry about the dark quality of the movie (how I do need a real video camera!!!!!! shooting with the digital camera does not work well indoors...)

Bathroom renovation

Rich recently started renovating our downstairs bathroom. Schuyler and Pepper are VERY helpful, and they are quite a team. We bought her a set of Home Depot's tools for kids, so she can work alongside Dad. Her favorite tools are the screwdriver and the hammer...

Silly Schuyler

Also, thank you Erika for the adorable heart sweater. Schuyler calls this 'the Erika sweater'.

Marley

Marley is getting bigger and cuter all the time. He gets wild with Schuyler; given her size relative to the rest of us, he sees her as a perfect little playmate. The other day he ran at her full-speed, then knocked her down with some serious force. Schuyler thought this was the funniest thing that ever happened to her (just glad she didn't hit her head on the concrete floor of the garage, which is where it all went down....)

Artistic genius

Schuyler loves the easel Michael and Tara gave her as a birthday present. Will she be an artistic genius like her father? :)

Beach time/ Engagement News

During the holiday week, Schuyler and I got together with Uncle Steve for lunch and some beach time at HYC. It was a beautiful day and wonderful to spend some time outside.







To cap off the beautiful day, Scot and Wendy came by to share some very exciting news - they are engaged! We are so thrilled to officially welcome Wendy into the family. Such a great way to start the new year...
